Hi,
Would like to change my old baxi back boiler for new combi boiler and fit that in to the lobby. Is anyone done that? and how much that was cost you. I’m located in Nottingham and if anyone have contact details for the right installer please forward to me. Thanks in advance.

Hello Rusla

Changing or removing the old Bermuda Baxi back boiler is a pretty straightforward process as the fire is simply disconnected and the entire unit can be removed from the fireplace. You will of course need a new fire as the Baxi isn’t as eficient as modern gas fires of today.

The old central heating pipes will need to be disconnected and re-routed if they are still useable but I would expect the cost for a new boiler to be around £2,500 – £3,500.
Don’t forget that combi boilers are no longer being made and have been replaced by condesing boilers which are considered more efficient.

I would suggest posting your job on the Mybuilder website as you will receive 3 quotes from prospective tradesmen and you you will be able to read reviews of past work they have completed. The site is free to register on and free to post your advert.
Try to include a few images if you can as this always helps and don’t forget to let us know how you get on.
