BISF Terraced Houses

Most people think of the a typical British Iron & Steel Federation (BISF) house as being a semi detached property, typical of the thousands that we see across the country today.

But did you know that a much smaller number of Terraced BISF Houses were also built at various locations across the country too?

Although we do not have the exact number or locations for all of these properties, our research archives hold one small document that makes reference to several general locations where the terraced versions of the BISF House were erected.

Portsmouth held by far the largest number of the Terraced version of the BISF house with a combined 676 houses located in the Paulsgrove area.

Th list itself does not provide exact street names. The location given generally referred to the general build area.

We are also aware of a number of  BISF Terraced houses in Scotland and we hope to update you with these locations in the near future.
