We are in the process of buying our first home. However, it is becoming more and more difficult.
The vendor wanted to move within 5 weeks and accepted a slightly lower offer in order to complete in that timeframe.
It was advertised as NSC but then we were told work had been done and certified to bring it up to standard. We have then been told the certificate is lost and that it is still NSC.
No one seems quite sure what type of construction it is either. From research I think BISF hence, me finding this forum.
Could anyone tell me from the link whether I am right about BISF and whether likely it has been insulated? It seems to have had new cladding twice in its lifetime. The original exterior was like the adjoining property.
I'm also concerned that the other semi hasn't had the work done and still has the corrugated roof. Would that still have asbestos and what are the potential risks if we are buying next to it?
So many questions! No one I know has bought this kind of property. Wish my grandfather was still alive as he was a builder and carpenter and could have advised us.
