Hi Marc

The council houses are being pained in slate grey I want my house to be a little bit different, I was looking at Portland stone but not sure.

Thanks

I think Portland stone would be good and it would certainly compliment the colouring of your brick lower half. What do the Council properties have covering the upper elevation if anything Barrie?

There are also a number of specialist spray painting services that you can use but I don’t have any idea about prices. Plus take a look on youtube as there are plenty of videos showing UPVC painting being undertaken.

Either way I do think it’s going to be a pretty big project.

What has lead you to wanting to change from white Barrie?

Hi Barrie
I’ve seen some great grey colours in specialist paint designed for UPVC windows that should in theory work on clean UPVC cladding.
There are also a number of other slightly warmer tones that I’ve seen that would compliment the warmth of your brick colouring, but I’m not too sure how they would look over a large area.

I really like the greys because it’s very current and contemporary and can give the property a whole different appearance and feel of quality.

I’ve attached some images below.
UPVC door treatment

Some of the paints seem to require that the surface is keyed first whilst other paints use an undercoat. I think it’s always better to lightly sand and key the surface first, especially when you consider the heat transfer that the cladding has to put up with in full sun.
Door coatings

That’s my thoughts :0) but I’m a contemporary fan.
