Attempting to remove flu from front room. once we have removed first one will the next section remain in place until collar is removed. and does the same apply for the next section.
ideally would like to leave last section in roof insitu.
has anyone else done this and how

Hello Will, take a look at this post here, it may help you Flue Removal by Doug

The upper sections should stay in place providing the brackets are secure but you will have a few centimetres of the flue casing that will stand proud of the living room ceiling.

Many people choose to box this in by making it a feature until they remove the middle section of the flue that runs up through the bedroom.
