Hi, I’m curious as to whether my house is BISF? We’re looking to extending in the future and it would be handy to know! It looks like many of the other homes I’ve seen pictures of in the renovation projects, the internal layout and the built in cupboards joining the 2 larger bedrooms. Does anyone have any advice on how to find this out…or could tell from the address (I couldn’t see it listed on the index) : 27 Ashleigh Grove NE12 8EY.

Any help would be greatly appreciated (also on whether it is easy enough to extend a BISF house…not me personally!!)

Many Thanks

Hi Marc,

Thank You very much for taking the time to answer my question. There’s actually quite a few streets around here that have the same houses….I’ll make a note of the street names on the school run this afternoon and leave a note on here for the index 🙂

Hi, I’ve taken a look at your address and I can confirm 100% that your house is indeed a BISF constructed House.
There should be no problem extending in the future as many properties have been extended by way of single and two storey extensions.

The fact that your house is steel framed shouldn’t prevent you from extending however you wish. All you need to do is inform your builder of the construction type and check where possible that he has experience in extending steel framed properties.

I hope this helps and for your privacy I have now removed your house number from your initial post.

If you have any other queries or concerns, please feel free to ask and I will add your street to our index as it appears we have missed your location during our search.

Best Regards

Marc
