I have just had my offer accepted for a BISF house in Bath, Somerset, which appears to be largely unmodernised. I am buying without a mortgage, so have no mortgage company requiring a survey from me. Are there any surveyors that anyone can recommend who actually know about this type of house and can make suggestions about the state of a property? Would it be advisable? I did have a look at the lower corners of the house for signs of corrosion, as suggested here, and found none that I could see.
I discovered that I knew more about BISF houses, after a couple of hours on this site and others last night, than the estate agent, or the chartered surveyor who is buying my flat did. It would be good to have a second opinion from someone who actually knows about these houses.
