Hi all, thanks for taking your time to read this. Right we’re to I begin, as far as I’m away my home is steel frame and apart from my neighbour, is the only one on my street. Is there anyway or finding out what type of steel frame house mine is? As from the outside it looks just like a normal home. Also were do I stand on insulating the cavities walls.

Hi Gards88
There are many steel framed houses that look just like normal brick houses from the outside. In fact until you entered the loft space it would be impossible to tell if it was steel at all.

Take a look at the houses in Google Maps link below, they are steel framed.

Can you send me your postcode to [email protected] and I will take a look at your house on streetview and see if I can help?

Hi thanks for the response, I know it’s a steel frame house as whilst doing working in my loft noticed the roof and floor joist are steel. Also I will add more pictures after I have posted this if you have any idea on the insulation side that would be great thanks

If it looks like a normal house from the outside… and its the only one on the street… what makes you think its steel frame as it would be a bizzare location to put it? Do post some pictures up as this may help 🙂
